[News Anchor] New here at 4:00, NorthPark, facing a wrongful death lawsuit that aims to shut down all of its parking lots. One person killed back in March, another badly hurt. This happened outside the Nordstrom when a driver racing through the parking lot slammed into them. Their families have filed a wrongful death lawsuit. That lawsuit claims there’s a history of drag racing on the mall property and that NorthPark has done nothing to stop it. [Marc Lenahan] This has been going on it looks like for about eight years, and NorthPark just hasn’t tried to stop it effectively. Even now, NorthPark isn’t putting the resources or the heart into protecting their customers the way they need to be. [News Anchor] The family’s attorney is calling on the public to boycott the mall this holiday season. NorthPark Center, sent us a statement today that says, in part, While NorthPark remains deeply saddened by this incident, NorthPark unequivocally denies all claims of wrongdoing asserted in the lawsuit.
